*In Ohio there are currently 3,078 patients that are currently waiting for the gift of life. a

*Since 1988, there have been 5,392 organ transplants performed at Ohio State University Medical Center.

*In 2008 there were more than 22,000 organ transplants performed due to more than 8,000 deceased donors,

*African Americans make up only 12% of the U.S. population, but 35% of the patients currently on the waiting list are African American.

*By becoming an organ and tissue donor, you can help save up to 8 lives and enhance the lives
of over 50 people.

*Every 13 minutes, a new name is added to the national organ transplant waiting list.
